Category:Software that uses QtI’ve been trying to recreate a couple of quick-and-dirty solid models (solid wire frames, not full solid wire mesh) and got stuck on the simplest of problems – The solidify modifier doesn’t work on a solid curve. The result is not a solid wire mesh but a solid wire. I’m using Blender 2.78 with the csgocad extension enabled.
Does anyone have a quick solution to this problem? Or maybe I’m not doing something right?
I tried googling for „Blender – solidify modifier on solid curve“ but the only hits I found are people that are trying to fix another problem.
Edit: I now have a better look at the „curve“ tool in blender and it looks more like a catenoid than a solid curve. It would be nice if the resulting solid was a catenoid and not a solid.
It’s worth noting that Solidify has two modes: Object and Curve. Object is pretty clearly the one you want, but if you are working with curves, Curve mode may be what you want.

The degree to which the cryosphere (ice sheets, glaciers, and their respective seasonal ice caps) responds to climate change is a key consideration for ice sheet modelling. Microwave sounding of the Greenland ice sheet is a particularly useful tool to investigate the state of the underlying ice sheet surface as a result of variations in heat flux to the surface and changes in the ice properties. Two sets of microwave sounding measurements have been made of the ice sheet surface and underlying ice sheet since 2011. The first set of measurements have used a 10 GHz doppler radar deployed by the Danish Greenland ice-sheet project (DGI), and the second set of measurements have used the radars from the Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment (GRACE) satellite mission. A key aspect of the polar land ice is that the surface is separated by an approximately 5 m thick horizontal bed of snow and firn. The radar measurements are made at many radar stations distributed across the ice sheet and allow detection of variations in radar signal amplitude, phase, and polarization over the horizontal bed. These radar measurements provide unique information about the vertical ice sheet structure, which is not accessible by other means. The ice sheet surface thickness is used to infer ice sheet topography, and the radar phase and amplitude data are used to provide information on the bulk ice sheet properties (e.g. ice flow velocity and density).
The GKSS-1 surface sounding radar on Pingu and Nuuk has measured the radar signal above the ice sheet surface since 2011. Radar data from both stations are archived at the DGI data archive.
